Works of art destroyed by fire acquire a new digital identity. The fire is filmed in real time with the aim of
reversing the direction of the clip in the post-production phase. The effect generates a new point of view in which the flames progressively return the works making them reborn from their own ashes.
Fire can destroy, fire can create, or both at the same time.
SNUFF#1
STREET ART
Seven street artists painted artworks on small-format paper with stylistic and thematic freedom. The pieces were subsequently applied to matchboxes and deliberately ignited. The action of fire on the surfaces of the artworks generated a succession of random shapes in continuous transformation, defining a new pictorial space.
The combustion process was captured using an Anamorphic Macro lens, with a vertical aspect ratio (9/16) and a resolution of 2160 x 3840.
SNUFF#2
TATTOO ART
Seven tattoo artists freely create tattoos, working on 1.5 mm thick synthetic skin. Their creations, each unique in style and imagery, are then affixed to matchboxes and ignited. During combustion, the flames produce a captivating range of visual effects, marked by the curling and melting of the synthetic material. The entire process is captured with an Anamorphic Macro lens, with a vertical aspect ratio (9/16) and a resolution of 2160 x 3840.
SNUFF#3
WRITING ART
The tag is the urban graffiti par excellence. It is not just a signature, but represents the artistic identikit of the person who created it. The handful of characters that compose it reveals everything about its author: artistic training, stylistic inclinations, calligraphic studies, membership in a crew.
Snuff#3 – Writing Art compares the tags of seven writers and lettering artists, chosen based on their ability to “dance” with letters, following the right flow and an original approach to writing.
The shots were taken with a Macro Anamorphic lens, vertical aspect ratio (9/16), 2160 x 3840 resolution.
